Melissa + Y/Project
We teamed up with Glenn Martens on a pair of mules. This unexpected shoe marks the first draft of our collab.
Since Glenn Martens' appointment as creative director of Y/PROJECT in 2013, the Parisian label has combined conceptual and inventive details with playful proportions and a witty take on historical references.
At the heart of Y/PROJECT, Martens has since emphasized individuality and independence. Fusing street energy with thought-provoking silhouettes, his unique take on masculinity and femininity blends eccentric references with unisex looks that transcend versatility.
Today, Y/PROJECT is one of the most anticipated shows of Paris fashion week , with its finger firmly on the pulse of the city's vibrant eclectic new wave.
The MELISSA COURT SHOE + Y/PROJECT is a low-heeled court shoe and features a glass-like texture influenced by the Rococo period. Available in clear and translucent black, the design is textured with a pointed toe. “This eco-friendly collaboration reflects one girl's dream of wearing a crystal shoe but with all the comfort that Melissa is known for,” Martens comments on the style.
In addition to pumps, Y/Project and Melissa will soon unveil slides with a Persian rug pattern. Both shoe options will release in May 2021, with mules priced at $249 and beach slides at $129.
