sustainable development at Italy Two

The European Sustainable Development Week is an initiative whose objective is to encourage and publicize activities promoting sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) throughout Europe. It takes place every year from May 30 to June 5.

Due to the health crisis linked to COVID-19, the SEDD 2020 wished to take into account the possible postponements of the activities scheduled during the initial period of the SEDD, following the various health instructions applied. Thus, to give the organizers the possibility of planning their events on a new date, it was decided to postpone the SEDD from September 18 to October 8, with a heart week from September 20 to 26. The SEDD recognizes the importance of sustainable development, particularly during these times of crisis, and stresses the need not to lose sight of these objectives of transitioning to a more sustainable mode of development.

For example, on occasion, the large Italie Deux shopping center in the 13th arrondissement of Paris offers activities from September 23 to 26:

-A workshop for children under the theme Nature and Recycling on Wednesday September 23 and Saturday June 26 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. by the Mom'Artre association.

Wednesday, September 23: personal work of making kokedama: Kokedama is the "moss field" on which it blooms. This technology was introduced from Japan in the early 1990s. Each child can make their own kokedama on the land and choose the plants they want to grow.

Saturday September 26: collective work - creating a "garden" with elements of regeneration.

-The existence of the revolutionary "Plast'if" machine, which can be 3D printed from plastic waste. Come and watch the parade from September 23 to 24!

-Friday 25 September and Saturday 26 September, the Maison du développement durable. Covering an area of 15 square meters, this educational house will focus on good practices to adopt on a daily basis.

-PAPREC, the center's waste management service provider, will be present from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday 23 to present Italie Deux to its activities and waste disposal.

-RUE RANGOLI: Rue Rangoli is a unit design and upgrade company that will let you experience the magic of the circular economy: animals carved out of flip flops salvaged from the ocean, ostrich eggs or jewelry coffee in capsules and zero waste products, such as solid soap, shampoo and conditioner, bamboo straw, etc. Up to level 3 from September 23!
