Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris saw great designers like Frank Sorbier go online but now the metaverse has its say!
The MVFW (The inaugural metaverse fashionweek) started this Thursday! From March 24 to 27, follow an event like no other with the notions and uniqueness of fashion week, all in a virtual world.
Many brands like Gucci , Balenciaga , Dolce & Gabbana and others have entered the NFT industry since last year with their digital creations including haute couture dresses, crowns, ready-to-wear, sneakers , boots and more.
Louis Vuitton had also launched a video game “Louis: The Game”, in which 30 NFTs are integrated on the occasion of its 200th anniversary .
The four-day event will be a mix of "Catwalks, pop-up shops, after parties and immersive experiences". It will also offer brands an environment to "test the technology of a 3D virtual world platform in a relatively low-risk way".
Virtual avatars will roam the tracks, possibly inspired by celebrities, with some clothing items and accessories also available for physical purchase. Basically, this means you can pair up with your customizable avatar when you buy an NFT outfit!
The brands will also appear in virtual stores in the “Fashion District” being built in Decentraland.
When visiting a virtual store, consumers could scan a QR code to see a realistic 3D rendering of the item appear in their physical space at home, via their phones.
So, ready to jump into the world of metaverses?
